St Martin’s Bonfire in aid of Autism Jersey
St Martin’s Bonfire, sponsored by Jersey Mutual Insurance Society, will be held on St Martin’s field on Saturday 4th November 2017.
Here’s all the information from the organisers:
This annual event just gets bigger and bigger. This year we are supporting Autism Jersey who will be the main benefactors from this charity event.
We have in the past had prizes for the best ‘guys’ that were either made at home or in our ‘guy-making tent’. This year we are offering two prizes, one of the best guy made at home or at St Martin’s School and one for the guy made in our marquee.
The guy-making marquee will be open from 6pm and will have all the equipment children need to make a guy. This is free of charge and great entertainment for the youngsters.
For all the crowd to enjoy there will be live music and fire juggler.
Our bonfire will be as big as last year when we burnt the Houses of Parliament! As usual what will be built on top of the fire is a closely guarded secret and but it will involve at least 30 sheets and loads of pallet boards. This year we will be lighting the bonfire with an amazing firework display so it’s worth getting there early to see this.
There will be drinks and food available and another reason for arriving early is to buy your bean crock which is always a sell out. Don’t forget that the entrance fee not only pays for the fireworks and charity donation but also for the children’s free bouncy castle and guy building competitions.
Programme as follows:
6pm Gates open
6.30pm Lighting of bonfire
7.30pm Judging of Guy Fawkes
10pm Close event
Entry prices – £5 for Adults (16+) & £3 for Children.
