Do something awesome

We would not exist without your generous support.

In 2007 the United Nations officially declared that 2 April will always be World Autism Awareness Day. In Jersey we have adopted the whole of the month of April for awareness and fundraising, and we encourage everyone to ‘do something awesome for autism’.

If you would like to raise money for Autism Jersey – at any time of the year – read on.

Regular donations
It can be easier to find £10 a month than £120 a year. A small, regular donation is better for us too because it helps us plan ahead. Direct Debit donations save on administration costs, meaning that more of your gift can be spent helping people affected by autism.

One-off donations
Donations of any size, from £10 to £10,000, are always welcome. Every penny you donate makes a difference.

Chosen charity
Many businesses select a charity of the year or a charity of the month. This not only helps the charity financially, but also raises the awareness of autism and Autism Jersey among your employees. We will work with your business to ensure we develop the very best partnership for both of us.

Why not sponsor one of our events? There are a number of opportunities including sponsoring a hole at our annual Golf Day or putting your name to a trek or cycle challenge. All of our events are well publicised which brings a multitude of benefits, from awareness of your brand to engaging with your employees to make them feel proud to work for the organisation.

Our events
Please support us when we organise big events, whether it’s a sponsored walk, a golf day, abseiling, a trek or anything else. Read more here for volunteering opportunities. See our current calendar of forthcoming events here.

Trek Machu Picchu, supported by Ocorian
In October 2019 a group of fundraisers will set off for Peru to get to Macuh Picchu, a bucket-list wish for so many people. Read more here.

JT Golf Day
Every August we hold a golf day at La Moye Golf Club. In 2017, it raised an awesome £20,000 for Autism Jersey. The next one is on Friday 10 August 2018.

Awesome ideas
Personal challenge: Anything from abseiling to zipwiring, jumping out of a plane, or cycling to Timbuktu, if you are up for the challenge, we will support you.

Sponsored somethings: Walking, running, dancing, cutting off your hair, quitting smoking… people don’t mind giving you some cash for a good cause.

Dress-down days: At school or at work, these always go down well. We encourage our supporters to wear different shoes for a day – will you choose a Wellington boot and a flip-flop or a trainer and a stiletto?

Whatever you do, it’s crucial that you tell the world (or Jersey at least) and that you let us know too! We would be delighted to help promote your event and we can provide you with banners, logos and buckets. Don’t forget to tell all your friends, family and colleagues about it. Share it on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and contact the media.
