Autism Jersey Trek to the Lost City, Colombia, March 2024

Kindly sponsored by Ocorian

Our Autism Jersey Trek, to Teyuna, the Lost City of Colombia, departed on the 9th of March 2024, where a remarkable group of 12 devoted individuals embarked on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

The group embraced the challenges of trekking through the verdant jungle, traversing river valleys, crossing streams, and navigating overgrown, muddy trails, through Indigenous Kogui communities and slept near these settlements in traditional community-created accommodation, before ascending the 1200 ancient stone steps to the awe-inspiring ruins of Teyuna, the Lost City of Colombia.

After discovering the ancient metropolis of Teyuna, our trekkers headed to Cartagena, a vibrant city set against the magnificent backdrop of the Caribbean, immersing themselves in the rich and colourful culture of colonial Colombia.

With the wonderful support of Ocorian, our trekkers triumphed in raising a phenomenal sum of:

£30,027.87!

Our deep and heartfelt expression of gratitude goes out to all of our #awesomeforautism trekkers and to every individual and organisation who contributed and bolstered this campaign. The funds raised will be instrumental in support of our Centre for Autism, find out more by following this link: Centre for Autism.

In the meantime, please enjoy this short video, with some highlights from our trekkers’ adventures:
